The defect

The front axle knuckle may crack due to the high number of high angle turns under axle combined loading (braking and steering) that occur during waste collection. This may result in a loss of steering control.

A loss of steering control could increase the risk of an accident causing injury or death to vehicle occupants and/or other road users.

The remedy

Note: Owners who have had their vehicle inspected and rectified under campaign number P54 must once gain contact with their authorised IVECO workshop or a dealer to have the necessary work carried out, free of charge.
