The defect

If the subject vehicles are continuously operated without inspection, the engine may exhibit abnormal noise and potentially seize. This may cause a sudden loss of motive power and/or a vehicle fire.

The hazard

A sudden loss of motive power whilst driving and/or a vehicle fire could increase the potential risk of an accident, causing serious injury or death to vehicle occupants, other road users, bystander and/or damage to property.

The remedy

Owners of affected vehicles should immediately contact their preferred Kia dealer to schedule an appointment to have the engine inspected and if required replaced, free of charge.
