The defect

Due to a manufacturing defect, the transmission may experience a build-up of pressure and heat causing transmission fluid to leak. A transmission fluid leak in the presence of an ignition source may result in a vehicle fire.

A vehicle fire could increase the risk of injury or death to vehicle occupants, other road users and bystanders, and/or damage to property.

The remedy
