The defect
Due to a manufacturing defect, the mounting position of the rear tail lamps and the rear turning indicators may not meet specification. As a result, during dark conditions, the traffic behind will have reduced visibility and may not be able to identify the vehicle.
The hazard
If the traffic behind is unable to identify the vehicle, it could increase the risk of an accident causing serious injury or death to vehicle occupants and/or other road users.Affected vehicles are not compliant with the Australian Design Rule (ADR 13/00) Installation of Lighting and Light Signalling Devices on other than L-Group Vehicles
The remedy
Owners of affected vehicles can contact their nearest authorised dealer to have the work carried out, free of charge.
