The defect

The battery cell negative terminals within the Lithium-ion battery module were manufactured with inadequate copper cladding and may fracture. If this occurs while the battery is energised it could lead to a vehicle fire.

The hazard

A vehicle fire could increase the risk of injury or death to vehicle occupants, other road users, bystanders and/or damage to property.

The remedy

Owners of affected vehicles should contact their preferred Authorised Honda Service Centre to make a booking to have the battery replaced, free of charge.To make an online booking, please see https://www.honda.com.au/findahondacentre
