The defect

Due to a manufacturing defect, the electrical connector in the transmission wiring harness may allow moisture to enter resulting in a short circuit. This may lead to thermal overload when the vehicle is parked resulting in a vehicle fire.

A vehicle fire could increase the risk of injury or death to vehicle occupants, bystanders and/or damage to property.

The remedy
