The defect

Due to a software issue, if a vehicle occupant places an obstruction such as a body part in the window space when the driver or passenger side windows are closing, the window may not automatically reverse and may exert an upward force greater than the design intent.

The hazard

If the driver or passenger side window auto reverse function does not operate as intended, it can increase the risk of serious injury to vehicle occupants.

The remedy

Note: An incorrect software update may have been installed on affected vehicles when recall REC-006100 / Ford recall reference 24C24 was carried out.Owners of these affected vehicles will be contacted in writing requesting they contact an Authorised Ford Dealer to have their vehicle rectified, free of charge.For further information, contact any authorised Ford Dealer or Ford Customer Relationship Centre on 13 FORD (13 3673).
