The defect

Due to a supplier manufacturing defect, the high-pressure fuel pump may not have been fastened to the cylinder head with sufficient torque. As a result, fuel may leak, and in the presence of an external ignition source lead to a vehicle fire.

The hazard

A vehicle fire could increase the risk of injury or death to vehicle occupants, other road users and/or damage to property.

The remedy

Note: Indicator warning lamp (Check Engine Light) may illuminate on the instrument cluster or the smell of fuel may be noticed around the vehicle.Automobili Lamborghini S.P.A will notify all owners of affected vehicles and will instruct them to arrange an appointment with an authorised Lamborghini dealer to check and if necessary replace the high-pressure fuel pump and fuel lines, free of charge.
