The defect

Due to a manufacturing defect, the left rear seat belt retractor mechanism may not operate as intended. As a result, excessive belt lengths may be released in the event of an accident or hard braking.

The hazard

In the event of an accident or hard braking, if the left rear seat belt does not operate as intended, it could increase the risk of injury or death to vehicle occupant.

The remedy

Suzuki Motor Corporation and Suzuki Australia will advise all FRONX customers of the listed vehicles to immediately cease using the rear seats.Suzuki Motor Corporation and Suzuki Australia are undertaking immediate and urgent investigations. Upon the completion of the investigation Suzuki Motor Corporation and Suzuki Australia will facilitate further activities to ensure the safety of all listed vehicles.
