Verify before you act. Recall details and remedies can change. Our database is updated regularly but may not reflect the most recent revisions. Always confirm with vehiclerecalls.gov.au or your vehicle manufacturer before acting on the information below. Read our full disclaimer.

The defect

Due to a manufacturing defect, the Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC) module may disable the Electronic Stability Control (ESC). If this occurs, the ESC may fail without warning resulting in a loss of vehicle control. This may also result in the seatbelt pretensioners and airbags not performing as intended in the event of an accident.

The hazard

A loss of vehicle control and/or airbags and seatbelt pretensioners not deploying as intended in the event of an accident could increase the risk of injury or death to vehicle occupants.

The remedy

Owners of affected vehicles should contact their nearest authorised RAM dealer to have the vehicle inspected and if necessary, update the ORC module, free of charge.
