The defect

Due to a manufacturing defect, the battery wiring harness may chafe against the battery holder bracket. This may cause an internal short circuit leading to a vehicle fire.

A vehicle fire could increase the risk of injury or death to vehicle occupants, other road users and bystanders, and/or damage to property.

The remedy

Owners of affected vehicles should immediately contact Scania authorised dealership to make an appointment to have the work carried out, free of charge.
