The defect
Due to a manufacturing defect, the cable connecting the handle of one or more of the doors to the internal release mechanism may have been incorrectly mounted and could detach. If this occurs, the affected door may not be able to be opened from inside the vehicle.

The hazard
In the event of an emergency, if the occupant/s are unable to exit the vehicle it could increase the risk of injury or death to vehicle occupants.
The remedy
Owners of affected vehicles will be contacted by Mercedes Benz in writing asking them to schedule an appointment with their authorised dealership to have the repair carried out as soon as possible, free of charge.
