Verify before you act. Recall details and remedies can change. Our database is updated regularly but may not reflect the most recent revisions. Always confirm with vehiclerecalls.gov.au or your vehicle manufacturer before acting on the information below. Read our full disclaimer.

The defect

Due to a software issue, the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) may fail to illuminate the visual vehicle speed, fuel level and other critical safety information.

The hazard

If the vehicle starts and the instrument cluster remains blank, the vehicle must not be driven. Operating the vehicle without visible safety system warnings may increase the risk of an accident causing injury or death to vehicle occupants, other road users and bystanders.

The remedy

Owners of affected vehicles will be contacted by Volkswagen and are asked to arrange with their nearest authorised Volkswagen dealer to have the software updated, free of charge.
