The defect

On affected vehicles, the passenger airbag may not be filled with the required volume of gas. This has occurred due to a production fault leading to a defective weld joint on the gas generator for the airbag.

The hazard

In the event of an accident where the passenger airbag is deployed, the ability of the airbag to protect the passenger could be compromised as a result, posing an injury hazard.

The remedy

Audi Australia Pty Ltd is contacting all known owners of a affected vehicles.
