The defect

Due to a manufacturing defect, the rear window glass may have been manufactured out of specification. This may result in uneven stress distribution causing the window glass to break.

The hazard

If an affected rear window breaks, it is possible that broken pieces of the window could fall into the vehicle interior or outside the vehicle which may potentially cause injury.

The remedy

Owners of affected vehicles will be contacted by Audi Australia Pty Ltd and asked to contact their nearest authorised Audi dealership to have the work carried out free of charge.
