The defect

A manufacturing fault in the material of the fuel pump inlet cover may cause it to swell and prevent the pump impeller from operating.

The hazard

If this fault occurs in the motorcycles fuel pump, the engine may stop suddenly whilst riding and there is a potential the rider may lose control of the motorcycle and cause an accident.

The remedy

Owners should contact any authorised Honda dealer and arrange to have their motorcycle repaired at their earliest opportunity.
