Verify before you act. Recall details and remedies can change. Our database is updated regularly but may not reflect the most recent revisions. Always confirm with vehiclerecalls.gov.au or your vehicle manufacturer before acting on the information below. Read our full disclaimer.

The defect

In certain Isuzu F series vehicles, the lock plate of the front RH spring shackle pin was not crimped to the correct specification during the vehicle assembly process. If the vehicle is operated with incorrectly assembled lock plate, the nut may loosen and the shackle pin may fall out.

The hazard

If the shackle pin falls out, the shock absorber and hanger will support the leaf springs, however abnormal noise from contact of leaf spring and bracket may occur. The issue does not affect steerability and/or drivability of the vehicle. If the shackle pin nut is found loose or the lock plate folded height is less than 9mm, the lock plate must be replaced.

The remedy

IAL has a customer data base which has captured all retailed vehicles and IAL will contact all owners by letter to notify them of the recall.
