The defect

The transmission skid plate on the 2010 JK Jeep Wrangler may allow debris to collect around the catalytic converter.

The hazard

If an excessive amount of debris collects in the underbody, the catalytic converter could ignite it, causing an underbody fire without warning.

The remedy

Chrysler Australia Pty Ltd will write to owners of all affected vehicles. Alternatively, consumers may contact their nearest authorised Chrysler Jeep Dodge distributor/dealership to schedule a service appointment at their convenience.
