The defect

On some vehicles, a locating tab inside one or more of the side door latches may break, preventing the door from latching correctly.

The hazard

The broken locating tab may prevent the door from closing, or in the circumstance that it is able to be closed, the door may unlatch while driving, which could cause an accident or injury.

The remedy

Owners of affected vehicles will be contacted by Mazda Australia. Consumers will be advised to present their vehicle to their nearest or preferred Mazda dealer for revised door latches to be installed at no charge.Consumers who require further information should contact Mazda Customer Support on 1800 034 411 or email customersupport@mazda.com.au
