Verify before you act. Recall details and remedies can change. Our database is updated regularly but may not reflect the most recent revisions. Always confirm with vehiclerecalls.gov.au or your vehicle manufacturer before acting on the information below. Read our full disclaimer.

The defect

The mounting nuts of the control unit box in the engine compartment may not meet the torque specification. If these mounting nuts become loose, the control unit box may move, resulting in electrical connectors separating.

The hazard

If these connectors separate, it could result in the engine cutting out, as well as a failure of the power steering, ESP or the Active Brake Assist. This would increase the risk of an accident, causing death or injury to the vehicle occupants and/or other road users.

The remedy

Consumers are asked to contact their most convenient Mercedes-Benz Retailer for a free of charge inspection and repair if required. To find a local Mercedes-Benz retailer, visit https://www.mercedes-benz.com.au/passengercars/mercedes-benz-cars/dealer-locator.html
