The defect

As part of the production process, the B-Pillar that joins the floor panel structure may not be welded correctly.

The hazard

In the event of a side impact accident, the weld joint may fail and could cause reduced protection for the fuel tank and vehicle occupants. This increases the risk of injury or death to the vehicle occupants and other road users.
