The defect
There may be insufficient tightening torque on the slotted nut on the brake caliper, which may cause the brake cylinder to work loose from the brake caliper.

Braking effect on the affected wheel may be lost, increasing the risk of an accident or serious injury or death of the the vehicle occupants and/or other road users.
