Verify before you act. Recall details and remedies can change. Our database is updated regularly but may not reflect the most recent revisions. Always confirm with vehiclerecalls.gov.au or your vehicle manufacturer before acting on the information below. Read our full disclaimer.

The defect

Due to a production fault, over time a crack in the transmissions pressure accumulator can occur.

The hazard

If the pressure accumulator cracks, oil and pressure is lost in the hydraulic system of the gearbox. As a result, the transmission of engine power via the gearbox is interrupted. The experience of this symptom would be comparable to depressing the clutch in a vehicle fitted with a manual transmission. This could increase the likelihood of an accident affecting the occupants of the vehicle and other road users.

The remedy

Skoda will contact affected consumers to organise repairs of affected vehicles, free of charge.Initial inspection of the vehicles may not have correctly identified the defect. Consumers that have had their vehicles inspected but not repaired should have their vehicles inspected again and repaired if necessary.Owners of affected vehicles can also contact the Skoda Recall Campaign Hotline on 1800 290 749 (Monday to Friday, 8.30am-8pm AEST) or visit http://www.skoda.com.au/dealers to find their preferred Skoda dealer.
