The defect

The front passenger airbag inflator contains compressed gas and propellant to inflate the airbag. There is a possibility that during the manufacturing process, some inflators may have been improperly welded and/or misassembled.

The hazard

The airbag may deploy unexpectedly and partially inflate, increasing the risk of an accident and injury to the occupants and/or other road users.

The remedy

Lexus RX Owner's will be contacted, inviting them to make an appointment with their preferred Lexus Dealer to have the recall carried out free of charge.
