The defect

On certain Polo vehicles of a limited production period, the welding on the towing eye in the vehicle tool kit may fail. When in use, the towing eye may tear as a result of forces exerted on it.

The hazard

In the event that the towing eye is torn, the towrope may sling back and cause an injury.

The remedy
