The defect
There is a chance that the footbrake retaining bolts if loosened sufficiently it may interefere with correct brake travel. This interference of the brake pedal may result in excess force being required to operate the braking system or in extreme cases, total inability to depress the brake pedal which will result in the brake system not operating.
