Verify before you act. Recall details and remedies can change. Our database is updated regularly but may not reflect the most recent revisions. Always confirm with vehiclerecalls.gov.au or your vehicle manufacturer before acting on the information below. Read our full disclaimer.

The defect

Audi A8 vehicles with glass sliding/tilting sunroof (PR number 3FE) manufactured within a specific period, an unfavourable stress distribution was set up in the glass roof panel during production. This can cause the glass panel to break unexpectedly. This usually happens when a door is slammed closed while the vehicle is stationary.

The hazard

As the panel consists of single-layer safety glass, which crumbles into small pieces in the event of breakage, a slight risk of injury caused by falling pieces of glass cannot be ruled out.

The remedy

Vehicle owners will be contacted directly. For enquiries, owners may contact Audi Customer Service on 1-800-502-834.
