The defect
Part of the vehicle's engine harness may come into contact with the metal link pipe heatshield and chafe, causing damage to wires within the engine harness bundle.
The hazard
If damage occurs to the engine harness wires, the engine may stall, misfire or rupture the exhaust system, possibly causing loss of power and increasing the risk of an accident and injury to vehicle occupants and other road users.
The remedy
Owners of affected vehicles will be contacted and notified of the recall.
