The defect

The bolted connection between the steering shaft and the steering rack may not be tightened to the required torque, which could lead to the bolted connection loosening.

The hazard

If the bolted connection loosens the driver may lose control of the steering, which could cause an accident and injury to vehicle occupants or other road users.

The remedy

Audi Australia Pty Ltd is contacting all known owners of affected vehicles.
