The defect
The electrical connectors of the side crash sensors may not meet manufacturing specifications. These sensors are used to determine when to deploy the airbags in the event of an accident. If the sensors do not operate as designed, it may result in a delay in the operation of the airbags.

The hazard
In the event of an accident, a delayed operation of the airbags increases the risk of injury or death to vehicle occupants.
The remedy
Owners of affected vehicles will be contacted by Mercedes-Benz and are asked to arrange with their nearest authorised Mercedes-Benz dealership to have the work carried out as soon as possible.
