The defect

Due to a manufacturing issue the secondary bonnet latch may be located in the incorrect position, this could prevent the secondary latch from engaging as designed.

The hazard

If the primary latch is released and the secondary latch is not engaged the bonnet may open without warning. This increases the risk of an accident causing injury or death to vehicle occupants and other road users.

The remedy

Owners of affected vehicles can contact can schedule an appointment after that notification with Tesla Service through their mobile-app.https://www.tesla.com/en_AU/support/service-visits?redirect=no#schedule-appointmentNote: Before driving, the notification of the primary latch being disengaged on the driving display should not be ignored and the hood of the vehicle closed properly. With the primary latch being correctly engaged there is no risk to driving.
