The defect

The previous replacement of the rear axle trailing arm clamping nuts (as part of the recent recall REC-001635) may have caused a misalignment of the rear axle assembly. This could result in excessive wear to the rear tyres, and may result in a sudden flat tyre and subsequent loss of vehicle control.

The hazard

A loss of vehicle control will increase the risk of an accident, causing injury or death to vehicle occupants and other road users.

The remedy

Owners of affected vehicles should contact their preferred Official Porsche Centre to have the necessary works carried out and completed free of charge.
