The defect

Due to a software issue with the In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) unit, the rear-view camera display may not display the rear camera image as intended.

The hazard

If the rear-view camera display does not display the rear camera image while reversing the vehicle, it could increase the risk of an accident causing serious injury or death to any persons located behind the vehicle.

The remedy

Mitsubishi Motors Australia will contact owners in writing and advise them to present their vehicle to their preferred Mitsubishi Motors dealer to have the IVI software updated, free of charge.Note: The repairs may be performed by any Mitsubishi Motors dealer regardless of where the vehicle was purchased.
