The defect
Due to a manufacturing defect, the front axle wiring harness may come in contact with the oil cooler. As a result, the wiring harness may chafe and become damaged over time. This could impair the operation of safety systems such as the Antilock Braking System (ABS) and the Electronic Stability Program (ESP).
The hazard
A loss of safety systems such as the Antilock Braking System (ABS) and the Electronic Stability Program (ESP) whilst driving could increase the risk of an accident causing injury or death to vehicle occupants, other road user and bystanders.
