The defect

Due to a manufacturing defect, the spline teeth of the windshield wiper arms may deteriorate and could result in loss of wiper function.

The hazard

Non-functioning wipers could lead to impaired visibility for the driver and in certain conditions, may pose a hazard to the driver and other road users.

The remedy

Owners of affected vehicles should contact an authorised Daimler Commercial Vehicle dealership and make arrangements to have the windshield wiper arms inspected and if required replaced, free of charge.
