The defect

Due to a software defect, a warning message that indicates when the Automatic Clutch Unit (ACU) motors require replacement may not operate as intended. This may cause the ACU to stop functioning and result in a loss of motive power.

The hazard

A loss of motive power could increase the risk of an accident causing serious injury or death to vehicle occupants and/or other road users.

The remedy

Hino will contact affected owners in writing requesting they make an appointment with their nearest authorised Hino dealer to rectify their vehicle, free of charge.
