Verify before you act. Recall details and remedies can change. Our database is updated regularly but may not reflect the most recent revisions. Always confirm with vehiclerecalls.gov.au or your vehicle manufacturer before acting on the information below. Read our full disclaimer.

The defect

The steering wheel wire harness may become trapped between a tab on the steering wheel plastic back cover and the edge of the horn plate.

The hazard

This may cause the edge of the horn plate to rub through the wire insulation, creating an electrical short circuit which could cause the driver airbag to deploy, increasing the risk of a crash and/or injury to vehicle occupants.

The remedy

FCA Australia will notify owners of affected vehicles who can then schedule a service booking with their nearest authorised Chrysler Jeep Dodge dealer. The dealer will inspect the steering wheel harness and repair or replace if needed at no cost to the owner.
