The hazard

If the driver does not shift to neutral or apply the brakes to stop the vehicle this condition can cause a vehicle crash without warning.

The remedy

Affected owners will be contacted by mail advising them to schedule an appointment with their nearest authorised Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge or Fiat dealer for rectification. To do this, the dealer will inspect the software level of the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) and if necessary, reprogram the PCM.
