The defect

The front passenger airbag inflator may be susceptible to moisture intrusion over time due to insufficient protection against moisture absorption into the propellant.

The hazard

This may cause the inflator to rupture if the airbag is activated. This may cause injury to the vehicle occupants.

The remedy

Owners will be contacted by direct mail. Owners should make an appointment with their nearest Hino dealer to have the passenger airbag assembly inspected and replaced.
