Verify before you act. Recall details and remedies can change. Our database is updated regularly but may not reflect the most recent revisions. Always confirm with vehiclerecalls.gov.au or your vehicle manufacturer before acting on the information below. Read our full disclaimer.

The defect

The Automatic Clutch Unit (ACU) has two motors that operate the clutch. The ACU motor may not operate correctly if wear occurs on the internal brush. If one motor fails, the other can compensate for this and continue to operate the clutch system. In this situation the ACU may not function correctly, due to the ACU control software being unable to account for changes to the ACU motors operating characteristics.

The hazard

If the ACU is unable to operate, a warning light in the vehicle may appear and the vehicle may not operate. This poses an accident risk and serious injury to occupants of the vehicle and other road users.

The remedy

Owners of affected vehicles should contact their local Hino dealership to get their vehicle's AMT ECU reprogrammed. The two ACU motors will also be replaced free of charge.Consumers can contact Hino on 1300 014 466 or find their local Hino dealership at https://www.hino.com.au/dealer/
