The defect

When the accelerator pedal on the left-hand side of the vehicle is fully depressed, it may stick in the full throttle position. This can result in the vehicle accelerating unintentionally.

The hazard

Unexpected acceleration may result in reduced ability to control the vehicle, increasing the risk of an accident causing serious injury or death to vehicle occupants and/or other road users.

The remedy
