The defect

Certain Volkswagen Golf models of a limited production period may have tyre placard labels displaying the wrong specifications for the vehicle.

The hazard

A wheel and tyre combination may inadvertently be fitted to the vehicle that does not meet the vehicle requirements. This may affect the handling of the vehicle, causing a possible safety risk to the vehicle occupants and other road users.

The remedy

Owners will be contacted by direct mail and asked to visit their preferred Volkswagen authorised dealer to have the correct tyre label fitted.
