The defect

Incorrect compliance label specifying the vehicle load capacity differs from production information and may state a Gross Vehicle Mass rating in excess of the vehicle’s capacity.

The hazard

Incorrect labelling of the vehicle load capacity could lead to a consumer carrying a load in excess of the vehicle’s capacity, resulting in an increased accident risk to vehicle occupants and other road users.

The remedy

Volkswagen Group Australia Pty Ltd is contacting all known owners of affected vehicles.
