The defect

On Caddy vehicles of a limited production period, the earth attachment of the on-board power supply control unit may not have been correctly tightened. In certain circumstances the starter motor may crank the engine when unlocking the vehicle. If the vehicle is left in gear, the vehicle can then move.

The vehicle can move by itself if left in gear posing a risk of accident.
