The defect

A bolt within an isolator may vibrate loose and unscrew, thereby coming into contact with the starter power cable and potentially creating a short circuit from the starter motor power cable to the chassis ground.

The hazard

A short circuit between an un-fused starter cable and chassis ground could result in a vehicle fire.

The remedy

Consumers should contact their Western Star Dealer and quote the campaign number, FL609A.
