The defect

Due to a manufacturing issue, an electrical wire may have been routed incorrectly in the engine compartment causing damage to its insulation and resulting in a short circuit.

A short circuit may cause a fire and could increase the risk of an accident, serious injury or death to vehicle occupants, other road users and bystanders, and/or damage to property.
